Bryant's New Novel is Here!

My new novel, Eternal Moments is now available on Kindle. HOORAY! I could have uploaded it a year ago, but I wanted to try to interest a publisher or literary agent in it. No luck there. Maybe I should have been like Casper Gutman in The Maltese Falcon, who spent 17 years on the quest for the black bird. I'm not that patient. however, and it's the last time for me to try this route. I am now totally dedicated to the self-publishing scene, doing everything I can through Amazon and BookDNA.com to make people aware of my book.

Actually, giving up on traditional publishing takes a lot of the pressure off. In my more optimistic moments, I agree with my former Peace Corps buddy, Larry Lihosit, who recently texted, "With the invention of print-on-demand, we have an alternative and can concentrate on literature." Larry is the author of 20+ captivating books, including his recent Brief History of Madera, and he sells a lot of them - compared to me, at least.

In any event, taking this route also means I'm not going through the enormous hassle of creating a hard copy of Eternal Moments. It's available with a subscription to Kindle Unlimited for nothing and without a subscription for $4.99. I apologize to everyone out there - anyone? - who would like a signed copy. Here is the blurb that would have adorned a book cover:

"Eternal Moments, Bryant Wieneke's new novel, takes us on a thrilling adventure to the source of the Nile, challenging assumptions about life, death and the spiritual potential of the spacetime continuum. The tenth novel of this timely series is a contemporary political thriller as well as a quest for understanding of the ineffable. Alternately set in a fractious Washington D.C. and the mysterious Sahara Desert, Eternal Moments combines old-fashioned story-telling with themes echoing Maugham and Matthiessen and dialogue reminiscent of Aaron Sorkin's The West Wing."

It is the tenth novel in my series, and I believe the main character - in fact, all the characters - have evolved over almost 20 years. I know I have.
